The RiverWalk was unique. In our travels we had not yet seen this concept. The river was manmade, at least partly. Water was diverted from the San Antonio River and "pushed" into a canal through downtown. Most of the walk was below ground level. Tons of stores and restaurants line the walkway giving it a unique atmosphere. The staff of one restaurant actually yelled at the customers -- for fun? Like Bourbon Street in New Orleans, the RiverWalk really comes alive at night. If you're in the area don't miss this!
